Charger Football Update

Since my last post baby bear has had 2 games. Last Tuesday they played game 8 and lost to the only other team in their division that was undefeated. Yesterday they played game 8 and won 25-6



Papa Bear's sister Aunt J. and her friend G. were in town for business and came to the game.

Tomorrow is the Chargers last game before the play-offs and we have two special guests coming Da'Ole Bear and Grandma C.

Weekend Recap

Friday- Both boys went to Halloween parties. Papa Bear and Lumpy got together for their annual drink beer/pass out candy party while I stayed home passed out candy and watched a movie. The camera ran out of battery- that's why there's no pictures of baby bear-he dressed as Canadian Man. I'm SURE he'll dress up again and when he does I'll post pictures. This is bubblewrap man.




Saturday- Football practice and Varsity football game. #32 twisted his ankle and lost..badly.

Sunday- I sang at church, which felt great. I've sat out the past few months because of busy schedules and Papa Bear being gone. Sunday evening we celebrated a dear friends birthday at a local brewery.

And Lily got a boyfriend. She wouldn't stop kissing Lumpy. I guess she goes for that "just come from a bar type". Hope your weekend was good too!

And...Baby Bear got his birthday present last Sunday. We've been looking for the prefect pupppy for a month. During that time Teen Bear decided he wanted one too! Baby Bear's is his right- Lily and Teen Bear's is on the left Emmy.

Weekend Recap - Picture less Edition

Picture less Because I live with BOYS!!!

and you can't always count on them to take pictures

So lets call it what it is a journal. So sit back for a story.

It started Thursday at the bus stop-Baby Bear got in the car, with 3 other kids (Teen bear stays after school on Thursday for band sectionals/private lesson-so he wasn't one of the 3.)

Baby Bear says he doesn't feel good-I ask whats wrong-he's doubled over and says he doesn't want to talk. Before we make it a block BABY BEAR IS THROWING UP!! ALOT!! IN MY NEW CAR! The 3 evacuate and are graciously very supportive. He got sick 5 more times Thursday night and spent Friday on the couch. Luckily his football game was cancelled because of wet fields. I think he ate something bad at lunch- he never had any other symptoms.

Friday afternoon Papa came home! His time in Canada is over! Both kids were supposed leave for San Antonio and Fiesta Texas Friday night with their church youth group but, baby being sick didn't.

Saturday by the afternoon baby bear is feeling better and goes to the movies with a friend. My Praise Band had a Gig Saturday night- Papa forgot the camera- actually he never thought about bringing it! No pictures.

Sunday teen bear came home- he had a good time. He did take his camera and took 3 in the car. No pictures.

Tune in tomorrow- I'll be posting Canada part II pictures and Da'Ole Bear is coming back for 2 football games- one being tomorrow night! Hope you had a good weekend too!

Why is it that food at someone elses house...

...always tastes better? Or at least our kids think so.

Here is my favorite "Sloppy Joe" recipe. I don't even like Sloppy Joes-

but this recipe made me a convert.

1 lb Hamburger

1/4 onion, Chopped

1/4 Bell Pepper, Chopped

1 tsp. salt

1 Tbsp White Vinegar

2 Tbsp Mustard

2 Tbsp Sugar

3/4 Cup Ketchup

Brown hamburger in skillet, set aside. Saute onions and peppers. Add hamburger and remaining ingredients. Serve on buns. It's yummy and fast.

Guess what- Baby Bear doesn't like them. He likes Snow White's "Sloppy Joe's". And Sneezy, he likes my cakes made from a box to his mothers homemade cakes- she NEVER uses a box. This drives her crazy!

As a side note- Snow White is out braving the elements tonight. Our football team is having their pictures taken and there are LOTS of other teams and Cheerleaders and rain LOTS of rain. Thanks Snow- for letting me stay home in a warm dry house and blog. Check out her blog- she has a new look enchantedandreapeterson.blogspot.com

Works for me Wednesday

This is my favorite "South Beach" breakfast. When I'm in the "zone" I make them ahead of time, keep them in the refrigerator and warm up a couple each morning.

GREEN CHILE AND CHEESE EGG "MUFFINS"
12 eggs
half of a 4 oz can diced green chiles, with juice (be sure to use Anaheim chiles, not jalapenos)
about 2 cups Four Cheese Mexican Blend (sharp cheddar is good too)
2 T cream, half and half, or milk1 tsp.
Spike Seasoning (optional)salt/pepper to taste

*I don't use muffins liners

Preheat oven to 375. Put 2 muffin liners in each muffin cup (12 muffin size pan) and spray with nonstick spray. In each muffin liner put a very generous pinch of the grated cheese. The muffin cup should be about 2/3 full before you put the egg in. Break eggs into bowl, add milk or cream and beat until egg whites and yolks are well combined. Add spices and green chiles with juice and mix into eggs. Pour egg mixture over cheese so each muffin cup liner is full to the brim. (This usually takes two pourings as the egg mixture settles over the cheese. Be sure they are as full as you can get them, but not running over the side or you will have a cooked-on egg mess.) I like to take a fork and gently "stir" in each muffin cup to get the cheese evenly distributed in the egg. Bake 375 for 35 minutes, or until all muffins are puffed up and the top is starting to brown.

Papa Bear was home for the weekend!
